"New Frontpage Image" | |||
| Jenanne |
I like the variety of the new frontpage much better than the image of the most recent render. It's visually more interesting since the current render doesn't change as often. Great idea! About the ads -- Ryan is having trouble making ends meet, just like everyone else in this economy. To keep providing us with his terrific work full time, he has to have ads on the site, as well as do other things like give away some free images to attract people. And the ads are not that distracting compared to many sites. Instead of griping, perhaps we could all pledge to do what we can to pass the word about Ryan's work. We could help just by telling friends and family to check out the site. Surely there are other things we could do, too. Ideas, DB fans? |

I really enjoy the random selection of wallpapers on the front page. However, my only grudge is the placement of the "Enter Here" link. It feels like it should go somewhere more presentable than at the bottom of the page (Plus, there's a second, redundant link to the same page right below in orange font). Maybe move it under the image and the image name? |

Went to DB in IE. The ads aren't that bad, just a small one at the top & a small one down the Left Side, way less intrusive than most sites even yahoo & google. Gave a few of them clicks for ya Ryan. |

Thanks Miguel. I'm glad you like the new front page image! Regarding the ads: anyone posting here is already a Member. I need to do a better job of letting people know how to disable them (log in here and they should be gone). |

Love the front page! the wide image is awesome! great work Ryan! Ryan CANNOT and should not get rid of the ADS! WHY? the ads are most likely a minor form of $ income for Ryan and his family! if YOU WANT the ADS to disappear BECOME a member!!! I'm in DB 4 Life! =) |

I love the random in the front. But I'd like the page to be scrunched a tad so that the "Enter Here" is visable without having to scroll down. Maybe move the Enter Here to right below the pic? |

I like the random. I can click refresh until I find the one I want to look at today. That's nice. |

I think you can drop that page altogether and go right to the page with the artwork on it (dbhome.shtml). If you like a initial page how about one big image which has bits of artwork that you like melded together or even one image from each year to show how your art has changed over the years. |

Just today I was greeted by an image I hadn't seen before. I say it's a definite plus to randomize the image, to be greeted by something new each time. |

There he is in all his naked fire wielding glory http://digitalblasphemy.com/oldindex.shtml don't forget to scroll over the fire balls |

I had the bald guy on my front page during the early 2000s. |

Haha I got all excited because I thought there was a new image! Apparently it was just one I haven't seen before... :P. Oh and who is that bald guy?? When did you make him? |

How about a marquee that scrolls horizontally through 10 random images? I think that would be pretty nifty. Might require something other than just HTML though. On another topic, are you going to keep the look of your watermarks how they are? I like the old one. :( (Yes I know I'm repeating myself.) |

There is a link below the ads where you can log in and make them disappear. Let me know if it doesn't work for you! |

GET RID OF THE ADS |

Wow, his eyes open if you roll over the 'Enter' or 'Inside' buttons! Very cool indeed, but please don't bring him back! Maybe do DB classic every now and again, add him to the random images. I like the random ones, I think it works well. |

I do believe you can click on the image to go straight to it in the gallery. |

I usually use the front page and just now when i came on I saw 'enshrouded'. I had never seen it before and definitely love it. I think its a great way to showcase older work or images we may have missed! enshrouded = a new fav! |

I've encouraged people to bypass the front page by not changing the content. I'd like it to be usable though and for people to be able to type in digitalblasphemy.com and get a quick dose of eye candy (and no ads). Maybe I should make a new baldie... |

I don't usually go through the front page either but I just did it a few times & one of my old favorites Binary came up. It got me thinking since you just made this awesome star... http://digitalblasphemy.com/preview.shtml?i=binary Regardless, I think you should throw the bald guy in the random window for old time sake. |

I like the random image on the front page, it add some incentive to not skip over it. It would be helpful though to have the image title somewhere on the home page, maybe in the image alt text or something. Then when I see one I like, I know what to look for once I get in the site. I'm a big fan of the dualscreen images, can't wait for Corona! |

First of all, I can't comment on the Frontpage Image because I have my bookmark set to the homepage. That said, I am a fan of randomness, so I say go for it. I am eagerly awaiting the dualscreen render of Corona (thanks for the tease!). I'll be stuck with the single screen version at home but at work I'll be able to see the dualscreen in all of it's glory for 8 hours a day! WOOT! :D |
