It's funny that you mention the fact that you've been online for more than 15 years, but this is your first "stab" at social networking because that's how I am as well.



The Internet has finally been around long enough to where there are new things that have come to be like social networking that "older" Internet users don't get.



Funny how things work the same even in different mediums.

I've heard some orror stories about facebook, MySpace and similars.



I'm spamed by MySpace "friend" requests because of a typo by somebody else. I never registered with them!



Make sure that you carefully read all of the EULA. It can say that ALL information you provide become the provider's property! For EVER! Even after you close your acount.



Your name, and personal informations, may get used for some promotions, without ANY compensation, without your concent, and without your knowlege.

I have no idea why I never thought of you there before, but you should SO have a facebook application for DB. It would simply be a notification widget that could probably use your rss feed. People like me who LIKE the rss feed probably wouldn't use, but I'll get you'd get all kinds of new eyeballs.



And who doesn't need more eyeballs?

Honestly, this is a great idea, if for nothing else, just to get your name out more. Over time, I'm sure this will draw some significant traffic to your site.

Best of luck to you on Facebook. I commend you for resisting (or avoiding) this aspect of the internet for so long. It can be amazingly addicting, and horribly revealing! You'll have to let us know what you think after you have been using it for a while!

I joined the group and requested you as a friend. I think it's a pretty good idea to do this and it seems that you can give us updates through facebook on stuff so that would be a nice feature. Keep up the work on the new wallpaper and I hope to see it soon.
