"DB on Android" | |||
Ryan |
Unfortunately the app only has access to the screen resolutions I make available. Can you tell me what sizes you need for your Android devices? I usually only add resolutions when I see a large demand for them. Even if don't have the exact resolution available we have tried to set the app up so that you will get as good a match as possible. The app doesn't use the built-in Android cropping (to my knowledge) so it should fit your screen as closely as possible. Sorry your are disappointed though! |

I have several Android devices (Samsung, Asus, HTC) in several sizes (4", 5", 7", and 10"). This app doesn't really have the correct resolutions for any of them. Plus the built-in cropping feature in Android seems to exclude most of the wallpaper. This happens with any wallpaper, so I don't blame the app. I was expecting a lot more QC for this app. I have been a member for several years, and I was really looking forward to this. I paid for it, and I am now disappointed. But given Ryan's track record, I would still buy the next version. |

You get the benefit of this beautiful web site and what Ryan's talent provides, and for less than ½ the price of a stoopid Starbucks, and still, you gotta complain? Let it alone, enjoy it for what it is, pay the three rocks, and be happy. Oh, and don't worry. Thank you. |

How about an apple app? |

It would be awesome to have the functionality in the app to "apply a wallpaper" from the ones I have already downloaded. I can cue up a dozen to download and they save just fine to my phone, but once they're downloaded, I have to manually go in and change the wallpaper via the system menu unless I choose the "download and apply" link when I first download. It would be awesome to be able to browse just the images I have downloaded and have the option to apply any of them as the current wallpaper. |

Love the app. I have a Galaxy Nexus and the screen sizes the app suggests isn't that great. Do not know if it is the best choice. I have tried quite a few of the sizes and none seem to do it. The wallpaper size for the GNEX is 440x1280. I have found a few wallpapers that are heavily cropped and still display nicely but more would be better :) I do not know if it would be possible but to have the app crop to a desired dimension would be cool even if it distorted? I have no clue about these things :) |

I have enjoyed using this app and had no problem with the small fee. It took a few minutes to figure out how to log in as a member and get the right resolution, but now I don't look for backgrounds anywhere else. BTW, some of the earliest wallpapers are really cool for the phone. I will soon be migrating to an iPhone, so I am also lobbying for an iOs version... |

for us worshippers of the great apple? An iTunes app would SO rock! |

Regarding the cost - seriously folks, a developer spent his time creating a really nifty app, and some complain about $1.50? You can't even get a cup of coffee for that. If Ryan himself created the app, then yes, I would expect members to get it free, but since it's done by someone else, this seems more than fair. |

Should be free for members. |

Correct, Google Play purchases follow your Google account to whichever device(s) that account resides on. |

Looks like a great app! I'm going to wait until I get my S3 to buy it though... one more app my kill my old phone lol. I will admit I was a bit irritated that it wasn't free either, but knowing the Dev was doing this on his own with some of Ryan's input, can't argue too much. Once you buy it on one phone, you can use it on all (that are registered to the google play account) right? |

Admittedly I was surprised that it was not free for members or ad supported. However, it makes sense for a number of reasons especially given that Paul does the coding. I'm already working with him on a couple issues (very minor and potentially just me) and he's been impressively responsive. The GUI is intuitive and provides an easy way to filter the displayed results to prevent a massive cache downloading. |

Paul coded the whole thing (with a little input from me) and it is his prerogative to set the price. I would imagine that a little extra money coming in provides a nice incentive to respond quickly to feature requests from the users. For my part I will say that it is getting difficult to keep up with all of the myriad screen resolutions that are coming out, especially when you factor in the "scrolling" nature of the Android desktop. It has been my policy from the very beginning to at least provide a high resolution file that could be scaled down and (perhaps) cropped a little to fit just about any desktop. The app will suggest an appropriate resolution for your device and really does a good job of making whatever file you use look good. |

Most Android apps are free... why not this? Additionally, I would not buy something that did not at least give me all the sizes of my own device. I know each Android I've owned (3 so far) have all had different screen resolutions, but my current is 1040x960. Others have been 960x800, but that was an older device. Newer device are coming out with better resolutions. |

Oh heck yes! I've been waiting for something like this! Suggestions (already): zip download abilities, and pickle jar? Also an ability to search for the picture names for quick access to download a specific one. :) Thanks so much for getting this going! |

I was wondering why I couldn't download things on my phone. Course, I had the .zip file of everything up to a certain point :) |

Get this ported to iOS ASAP! Not just cool for its usability but it will expose your art to a larger audience that is searching for iPhone wallpapers in the AppStore. |

I have always had an Android phone, I am super excited about this! I will install the app immediately for awesome phone wallpapers. :) |
