NICE!! Personally, the light would look nicer in a more natural sunny yellow but, still way cool! |
| Russell |
This will make a great dual screen background |

Curious to know if the Biltmore House was inspiration? http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/9/9a/Biltmore_Estate_26.jpg/800px-Biltmore_Estate_26.jpg |

I started this one out as an Autumn image, but decided to pay homage to Summer first. It shouldn't be too difficult to convert to Autumn use however ;-) |
| Mike |
Very nice. Is it too late to request a new Autumn wallpaper? Thanks. |
| HorcruxHP |
I can hardly wait to see it finished... I'm eagerly awaiting the dual monitor version!! |
| Lacy |
This just made my morning! Thank you. |
| Andrew |
Looks good! |
| Amadeus |
Love it already! |

Love it already! |

Preliminary estimates put this as a 10 in my book - looking good! |

Just got out of school and scrolling though my facebook feed and saw this. After the numerous abstracts, and my love of nature, I immediately loved this one! Fantastic can't wait to use it as my wallpaper! |
| Lacy |
Just got to work and checked your site. Got smacked in the face by this awesome flower! Woke me up better than the coffee I'm drinking. I love the light and dark relationships. The colour on the edges softens the almost harsh feel of the focal point. It's amazing on its own, though (me being a graphic designer and harboring an unhealthy obsession with CMYK) I'd want to see some cyan, magenta, and yellow in equally shiny and brilliant highlights. A version involving RGBK would be interesting as well. (Don't worry, I also nurse an equally unhealthy fascination with black and white, as well as the letter Q and the number 8.) |
| Mark |
Wow. That's looking very interesting. Obviously reminds of Cobalt Daisy, but the harshness of it is neat. It looks like it would cut you if you touched it! |
| Laura |
For some reason this reminds me of Sleepwalker Wood - except in crystals. |
| Eric |
Very cool piece. Some of the crystals appear to have scales, and some are smooth. Never, that I can think of, seen scales on natural crystal formations. But that is what makes it interesting! PS. All it needs is a dragon! LOL! |
| Ross H. |
I like where this one is headed! My one little piece of constructive criticism, though: the piece seems too bright to me... maybe make it a little darker? Otherwise, I'm looking forward to using this as my wallpaper! |
| RDL |
The crystals need a to contrast a bit more from the background. They blend in and are kind hard to see. Still very good looking and I like the color change as you go deeper into the cave. I hope for a pickle jar version that actually does go deeper into the cave. 8) |
| MIB4u |
... seeing as all comments from all past Works in Progress are collected: I like it very much and have already downloaded it! It's now even my wallpaper! A little constructive criticism: the front crystals look a little too bright for me. IMHO. Furthermore: Do you ever plan on making an online tutorial for Mandelbulber and/or Synthestructure? Maybe for Members Only ...? |
| David |
Nice! |
| Alexander |
Is what I'm thinking, but maybe that's because I recently watched Pacific Rim. :) Good to see you working on a new Abstract! |
| Sharon |
I know you probably can't use a brand but I am very much reminded of those old commercials when I see this. |
| Jenanne |
Shaping up very nicely -- I really like this so far. |
| James |
Seems that way to me, at least. Not in a bad way, of course. |
| SaltNPeppr |
That's the first thing I said when I saw this. I don't know what it is, and frankly don't really care. It looks AWESOME. |
| Michael |
I like the structure of this piece...and where it seems to be going. If it stays abstract, I wouldn't do much more; however, if it's to become something more specific, I can imagine this to be a view of the bowels of some mega-city! ...not to influence you, of course. ;-) |
| Jeremy |
This work in progree is AWESOME. I can't wait for the big reveal. I'm saving a spot in the rotation for this one! |
| Michael R |
This looks VERY interesting. Can't wait to see the finished version (and the multiscreen for my desktop). |
| Rob C |
I agree with Tyler (and others too, I'm sure). Watching each work develop adds to the "coolness factor" of DB. Thanks for allowing us to watch! I'm sure it's not easy having comments come raining in as you develop each piece. |
| Tyler |
I love this piece but really wanted to comment on the Work in Progress feature you provide your members. The ability to see the art while in construction is an amazing concept. What has always drawn me to DB is not just the quality of the art but overall the transparency and participation element of Mr. Bliss. I hope DB continues for many years to come and many more people are made aware of its beauty. |

I absolutely love these pieces (like "Orthohedron" and others) which could represent some type of structure (the scale of which is ambiguous - anywhere from millimeters to miles across) or they can be appreciated as an "abstract." (The impression of water at the lowest point is great). Love it! |
| RDL |
I think he would approve. Big fan of abstract. I like the architectural feel. I'll tweak the colors on my own desktop, but I always do that. Request for a black and white version with just one other color throughout. I think that would really be an eye catching pickle jar version. A "night time" version would be cool and rather original for abstract. |
| Jenanne |
Great! It's time for a new abstract. I love the preview window so we can see your renders from conception to completion. It keeps me dropping by every day or so. |
| Val |
Totally reminds me of the end scenes for FF13 and FF13-2. Love it! |
| Eric |
Cool! . |
| Jeff |
I haven't seen something like this from you in ages, but I really like it where it is now! Your space scenes are incredible, your nature scenes (Highlander particularly) have my friends asking where I took the picture (snicker!), and this is proof that you can do it all, since you can make straight lines and right angles look great. |
| James |
It's been awhile since I've seen one of these. |
| Woodstock |
Something about it...density of the stars maybe, looks like a purposeful rain of fire rather than a celestial event. Something about the upper left edge of the star cluster... |
Ryan |
My gallery version will be properly cropped. |
| Steve |
..liking it so far, Ryan. I suppose you've alreay tried various other colour (brit spelling, sorry) options, as the effect is quite often a surprising changed (but you already know this)... Thumbs up from this end! |
| Pat |
I was going to comment on a new pickle jar variate, and was greeted by this sweet image after logging in. I cannot wait to see the final product. This is one awesome picture. I love the "fire rain" but I suppose it could be a huge downfall from fireworks. Either way it is an impressive image. |
| Logan |
I actually like the people, but they are so far down in the frame that they are blocked by the windows taskbar if I put it as my wallpaper. |
| Ali |
It's good but I feel like it's repetitive compared to your previous works. Don't be afraid to break out new concepts. I suggested treehouses, such as a secluded village of exotic looking treehouses in the middle of a rainforest, or something. |
| Littlemom |
So far so good it's so pretty Absolutely Love it can't wait to see the final product |
| Maggie |
I had a dream like this once, but at the end of it, everybody died. That being said, it looks like these folks are just waiting for it to end, but at least they are together. |
| Katie |
The first word out of my mouth when I saw the work in progress was "COOOOOOOL" :) I love the engraving. Can't wait to see the finished product! |
Ryan |
| Raquel |
Very pretty, might be overdoing it a bit on the meteor shower. But as you said the title will explain, I'll reserve judgement. :) |
| Shelia |
"It full of stars!" It doesn't need people in it to experience the wonder, I do agree with others on that. |
| Josh/Sylar |
Love it a tad more sliver from the sky would be cool, would make a good mix sliver and gold. |
| Nick |
It looks great. I actually like having the people in this one. I look forward to finding out what is actually falling from the sky. If they were fireworks I would expect their to be more of a pattern/design to them falling. There seem to be quite a few of them for it to be a meteor shower too. Thus, my current conclusion is that it must be the flaming shrapnel remains from an exploding Death Star falling on the nearest planet. |
Ryan |
I always welcome constructive criticism but reserve the right to ignore it ;-) |
| Jeanne |
I love it! I'll totally love the one you do in purple shades! (purple is always better than red in my opinion!) |
| Afya |
I think Joe should just do the griping, since he seems to agree with the sentiment ;) But yes, I would be happiest if the humans were replaced with a curious animal of some sort. People aside, I love it. Exciting. |
| Laura |
I didn't know what to expect after your comment this morning, but I like this a lot. |
Ryan |
My eventual title will most likely clear up any ambiguity about what is falling from the sky... |
| Joe |
Although your meteor (or whatever... sparks?... fireworks?) density may be a bit high. I predict someone gripes about the people, though. Someone always does. |
| Shura |
My first reaction was "Shiny!" Reminds me of Tears From Heaven (2010). |
| Dr Blade |
...or the worlds largest "oops" moment happened offscren. Good work so far. |
