Conjunction: Created 10/4/98. My girlfriend recently gave me a book about Egypt and I was so inspired by the cool architecture of the Pharonic times that I created this in homage. The image was created in Bryce 3D with a few poser objects thrown in. In fact there are 4 posers in the image, but the fourth is kind of hard to spot (hint, she's quite far from the camera).
The twin sun trick will seen familiar to those of you who have seen Trinity. I thought it was too cool an effect to only use once
The hieroglyphic writing on the obelisks in not random. See if you can decipher it. Just to make it harder, my heiroglyphics are backwards.
This is still one of my favorites. I used this wallpaper on the computers when I was in high school at the time. Everyone loved it. Had it on my first home computer.
I am hoping this one can have a 2019 upgrade.

Hi, Ryan,
This is the picture that introduced me to your work. It was part of a theme for WindowMaker, a most excellent window manager. I still use it to this day when I have a dedicated UNIX/Linux desktop available. But yeah, this is The One. Glad to support you and your work.

Another classic with a great atmosphere. Not sure if I prefer this one to the 2003 remake, both have strong points of their own.

This is one of my all-time favorite DB images too. But I've never been able to figure out what's happening with the person/people in the foreground...what are they doing? Looks like he or they are carrying a cross or something...

This is one of the earliest pictures in which I find the subtle lighting and use of color truly captivating. Beautiful!

Still looks great, even today. Maybe a little too much blue but whatever. :)

One of my favourites here also. My only regret is that it isn't available in higher resolution widescreen (Conjunction2k3, which is, just seems less attractive due to its lack of framing and more conventional perspective).
This also seems to beg for animation - some twisting and swaying for the clouds and a small amount of ripple for the water beneath would bring this scene to life. Pretty please?

The new comments page is great. Provides easy access to past images.
This style is also one of my all times favorites. There is at least one more that I remember in this series.
The creature in the middle makes all the difference to me, and this type of addition is something that I miss in the newer images - the living thing, with the story that gives some perspective and depth.
More like this please.

This is one of the first images I ever downloaded from this site, many years ago. To this day, I still love this image and it always takes me away to a far off land in my mind. Very nice work.

Another original favorite that I was pleased to get in a 1600 resolution.
