What started as a fun diversion on my Facebook page has turned into a possible push into the VR world for me. Hope to have more to report on that front soon. For now I've rendered these 360 panoramas that you can check out right here on DB (without having to visit Facebook.
Update Christmas 2017: Santa brought me an Oculus Rift system so look for me to start adding stereoscopic 3D 360 images to the gallery soon!!
Members can download the 4K panoramic and 4K panoramic 3D versions (where available) from my gallery pages (they are also available a la carte to non-Members).
On the Oculus Rift they are viewable using the 360 Photos app (be aware you will need a Xbox controller to navigate the menus for some reason). Put the images in your "Pictures/OculusPhotos" directory.

Viewing 360 photos or videos on the Vive and other VR platforms will likely be easiest through Steam. Steam supports Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, or Windows Mixed-Reality platforms (maybe more).
Launch a 360 photo viewer on Steam:
- Launch Steam*
- Fire up SteamVR
- Launch your favorite 360 photo viewer (several to choose from including one integrated with SteamVR -> SteamVR Media Player)
* If you don’t have Steam, you can make a free account at steampowered.com. Download & launch Steam. Then download and launch SteamVR.
Launch SteamVR Media Player:
- Fire up SteamVR
- Click on SteamVR drop down in the upper left corner
- Choose "Run Media Player"
- From there, you can browse to wherever the images are on your PC using your keyboard & mouse, or headset & controllers.
Skybox (otherwise known as the loading screen):
- Put the images you want to use in the path below:
o %PATH_TO_STEAM%\Steam\steamapps\common\SteamVR\resources\backgrounds
- Put your headset on (Now in the VR environment – See attached screen capture)
- Pull up the Steam menu
- Settings -> Customize -> Background
- Select the image you want
The sky box / background is the image SteamVR uses in the headset whenever there is no active content (loading a game, program, app, etc.). Can be 360 or 360 stereo.
