I thought it would be fun to make some Easter eggs using Lightwave. I used different procedural textures for each egg. It was more challenging than I thought it would be.

Check out my Easter store on Zazzle!

I posted an updated Easter Egg render in 2011.

Great picture. If you do a Easter picture for this year you should do one with snow. Seen as how we have had such a snowy winter and it seems that we'll have snow on Easter :D

Best holiday picture ever! How about a white rabbit in an Easter themed Wonderland this year.

"Zazzle link"
The Zazzle link in the dbhome page links to db.com/Ostereier, which doesn't exist. Just a note!

Ryan, what's the real reason you haven’t done a Easter pic?

;) i always have to smile when i read or hear a german word within an otherwise english text. but maybe that's because i'm from germany, and stumbling upon a even more familiar word than those forming the rest of the text, it sounds totally strange. does that make any sense?

well, about this wallpaper... before i became a member, i often sifted through your gallery, and i came across these easter eggs (or ostereier *lol*). i was always fascinated by the huge variety of colors, patterns and textures. when i was younger, i once decorated eggs with my father. he took a huge amount of care in painting the eggs, while my method was a little easier... just covered the shell with some circles. but when i saw what he had done, i wished i would have taken more effort, since they were so carefully painted you always discovered something new about them... at least that's how i remember them, now that it's about 20 years later. ;) anyhow, it's a great picture and definitely worth a re-doing of some sort!

This is my fave piece that Ryan has ever done. Sort of brings out the child in me. I have it as wallpaper on my cell phone, PDA and laptop. I used to have it on my desktop but now I have a dual monitor setup, I would love to see a 2560 x 1024 reworking of this. In the meantime, I am using a 2560 x 1024 version of "dispersion", another really brightly coloured piece which makes me smile every time I boot up my PC. Thanks and keep up the good work Ryan. Get well soon!

I found a wallpaper site that covered digital blasphemy on the bottom right corner and put their own name there! They are claiming to be the author of it. http://crazy-frankenstein.com/free-wallpapers-files/holidays-wallpapers/easter-wallpapers/easter-eggs-wallpaper.jpg

"Happy Easter"
TBH: If you do a re-rendition of this one, it would look great (with the new software!) to have grass sprouting between the eggs, and a bit more spread out.

Its still a nice picture, and I'm not knocking this one. ;-)
