Not only is this "early work" but it is actually one of my first images. This one is in the 1998 gallery but it was actually done in 1994/95 (somewhere around there).

@Ryan - Definitely not, i vividly remember at least two or three other websites back then that leaned heavily on this sort of thing. Unlike DB, i don't think any of them are still alive today, which probably proves a point about versatility...

I like this one in particular though.

Elegant in its simplicity. Yet, profound in depth. Any observer can gather a unique perspective, intended or accidental.

Unfortunately yes, I was experimenting with adding my "logo" to images. Thankfully it was a very short phase.

Nice wallpaper, I'd like a higher resolution version; the 1152x864 link is really 800x600 though.

I really like this one, too. However, I was surprised to discover it's only 800 x 600, not 1152 x 864. Many of the earliest works are like that -- smaller than labeled.

I like this too and would like to see an update to the list of resolutions available. Maybe you could do a 3D adaptation or more color options? I have enjoyed your work since the 90s, Ryan. Keep 'em coming!

Is it appropriate for a desktop background? No. Is it art? Most certainly! There's a hidden complexity that's only picked up on close inspection. Imagine having something like this at the centre of a marble hidden in a new render as an "easter egg"? ;)

Admittedly, my eyes do hurt a little after a while, though..

This is so simple looking and yet for all the others that you have done that are amazing, this continues to remain my very favorite.

Thank you for all you do to make our desktop cool looking.

For being 12 years old this blows my mind. The planet feels so epic in this one. The mist and color choice is phenomenal. I would revisit this without hesitation.

Yeah, actually this one was made before I moved up to a 17 inch monitor. My first monitor was 14 incher which only went as high as 800 x 600.

There might be one or two others that are this size but incorrectly marked. Sorry for the confusion!

What fractal is this? I know "Fire and Ice" was based on the mandlebrot set, but I can't quite tell if it's the same case here.
