"The warmest place..."
...I've been all winter--any winter; every winter, including some long winters of the mind, since this image was first published. I've needed that warmth, that peace, that encouragement, and the imaginary wading and swimming I do in those waters any time of year. I used to explore the underwater bases of rocks like that one... A meaningful scene for me in so many ways; I thank you for bringing me this.

"Fantastic!"
This image is amazing. I was quite surprised that it was from 1999. I love the depth and the muted pallet fits it well. You should really consider doing more scenes like this one. With the much more advance software, the results could be stunning.

It's aged nicely for a 1997 wallpaper, but it's still got nothing on the 2000-11 pics. This one looks better as a thumbnail (A situation where low detail is appropriate)

Would it be possible to render this picture in 1920 x 1080. I am using it now but using what was available. I think this is a warm and beautiful picture.

"The best artwork has no big sizes!"
Ryan, i'm very interested in your early artwork, but you didn't rendered it even at 1280x1024. A pity. Want to see at least 1280x1024. Some works are really great, for example, this one.

I love this one -- it has such a wonderful fall feel to it, the way the light filters through the trees. If you're going to do more updates, I put in my vote for this one.

Picklejar 1600 isn't there -- it's a repeat of the original image. Too bad -- I like the PJ version better.

I'd love to see a redone version of this for the fourth of July this year. I can't even begin to imagine what it would look like now, with newer software and another 10 years of experience.

Despite the software limitations of the time, this is still a really nice concept, one which could use a good update. Seems like everyone here agrees to. This is why I love this site and your work, just when I think I've seen everything you have to offer, BAM! A blast from the past or a great new render.
