It's another one of those places he's brought into creation I just want to for real GO TO!! But I can't, Damn it! Ryan, sometimes, you're like watching Avatar; there were people who actually got depressed after seeing the movie, trying to deal with the blah-like gray wintry days compared to the beautiful glow-in-the-dark jungles of Pandora, wishing, in 2014, I could be for real in the place looking at the River Valley you made in '07. Wow.

I hate futuristic scenes that have very little life to them. I love the idea of the biodome and this really captures the idea.

This work definitely stands out to me over the others. Each area of the picture has a different mood to it, and the emerald green of the plants is full, vibrant, and pleasing to look at. The light coming from the top right is amazing, as is the work done on the water. Awesome job!

Cloud Canyon
The first time visited the Grand Canyon I found it to be completely filled with clouds. The scene stuck with me and inspired this render many years later.

I love it and can't get enough of the aurora pattern in the sky!

My favourite (I'm from Australia, so yes, that's how we spell favourite) part of the image is the aurora in the sky.

If you could render an image with just the aurora in exactly the same pattern as Skysong filling an entire image, I'd love the new image even more :)

Thanks for all your great images

Yes, a Night version of this scene would be interesting, with the sky full of stars and/or the moonlight reflecting off the clouds and the structures. This is such a cool scene, Ryan!

Very dramatic contrast between the simple, serene foreground and the bright almost explosive background. I hope you go back and generate dual-monitor versions for the top-10s that don't have them.

"Stunning"
Simply stunning. My only wish is that the dual-screen render had the same morose/pensive/isolated feeling as the single screen. The planet and dust cloud should fill a screen, with a spacescape that fades from multi-hued to a simple black replete with stars.

Something about the additional satellites and having the planet straddle the divide between screens ruins the feeling for me. It's like the planet has lost its grandeur, maybe? It's very hard to describe.

"Fires of Creation"
I downloaded the "lava" version all those years ago. For me, that version *is* "Crucible". In contrast to the view of this as a world being destroyed, to me it shows new planets forming from the matter circling their sun, their crusts so thin that the lava of their mantles still peeks through. That's more in tune with the title too, I think. Earth in the "Hadean" epoch was like this; give this one a few billion years and it could be as lush as our own world.

"Atmosphere effect."
This version gives a more sinister feel, as if she's hiding in wait and up to no good, whereas the black/white gave a feeling of "Oh, look, I blend in." I'm reminded of the scene in "Garden State," where Andrew's aunt-created shirt matches the wallpaper in the bathroom. I'm guessing it's the blue...
