A New Constellation (Sandy Hook Tribute)
"Like most of you, I was heartbroken by the tragedy in Newtown, CT last Friday. I have been hugging my own first grader extra tight ever since. Here is my meager tribute to the 27 victims. The render has 20 (young) blue stars and 7 (older) red/yellow stars forming a new constellation in the heavens. If you would like to download the wallpaper it will remain available in the free gallery. May the victims rest in peace and smile down on the loved ones they left behind."

I thought this was an interesting picture at first. Then I realized "Hey, I wonder if the blue stars represent the... (1, 2, 3, 4,) .. wow.". Then I saw your notes that confirmed the meaning of the stars and .. Mind Blown.

I don't have a child myself but I have nieces, a nephew and a younger sistern and --

All I can say is, Thank you, Ryan.

"I recently came across an article about how sunsets on Mars have a blue tinge and was inspired to try it myself. Anyone have a model of the Curiosity Rover they would care to share...

V.2 I've brightened the second Martian moon a bit and added a tiny Earth/Moon above the Sun.

Rendered using Vue d'Esprit 10.5.

"New Favourite"
Elevado is one of my favorites. But I'm starting to really appreciate this one.

"A little something I put together after a discussion with a good friend on the merits of "sky porn". This one is still in the early stages but I thought it looked nice enough to share."

Year of the Dragon (Night)
"Quite a few people asked if I could create a night version of Year of the Dragon. Hope you like it!"

I thought you could've mixed in a bit more color, it seems a bit bland with all the grey. I thought perhaps it could use a bit more dark blue. But it's still a great image (using it for my laptop now).

"This is an update to my "Arboreal" from 2003. I put this together on my "Asfaloth" laptop while "Year of the Dragon" was rendering on Bucephalus. The planet is my first attempt at using the "Lunar Cell" plugin for Photoshop and I cannot say that I am completely pleased with how it looks right now. I thought the scene looked nice enough to share as is however while I work out the kinks. Let me know what you think!!"

"Good but.."
Would almost prefer a bright moon to cap this off. Maybe even a sister view inside the forest with some lightning bugs.

Mistveil Mountain
"This is my first project rendered and developed on "Asfaloth". It is a continuation of the work I started with "The Unveiling" and thus I have left the word "veil" in the title. I'm still exploring Vue d'Esprit's new "height conforming" clouds.
I thought it would be fun to add my family to the scene. Can you spot the four of us?"

"Original is still great"
The original Mistveil Mountain is really good. It just popped up on my desktop and I didn't recognize it in comparison to it's more colorful counterpart. It really reminds me of Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. All it needs is a dragon perched atop the mountain :)

"Another area of the city I created for the "Gotham Garden" series. This view is an update to my 1998 "Gotham" render which was created out of one terrain and some creative shading."

I'm usually not a big fan of cityscapes but this one has reeled me in and kept me for as long as it has been around. I LOVE it and all the gotham garden incarnations. Thank you!

Red Sky at Morning
""Red sky at night, sailors delight. Red sky at morning, sailors take warning." The reason has something to do with dust kicked up into the atmosphere by approaching bad weather (which usually moves from west to east at the latitudes most familiar to whomever coined the original rhyme). "

"How did I miss this one"
Love the reds. I stopped by to pick out a new desktop and was surprised by this wonderful render that I seemed to have missed all these times.

Any chance of a re-render of this in 2880x1800?

The Unveiling
"This is a sequel of sorts to Enshrouded which I have put together to test out Vue d'Esprit 10's "Advanced Cloud Modulation" techniques.

Basically it allows me to contour the cloud layer to the curve of the terrain, so they appear to drape naturally over the landscape. It's a tricky procedure which I hope will be made simpler in future versions of Vue (so I don't have to height maps in Photoshop hopefully). It is a powerful tool however, and one which I hope will bear more fruits in the future.

Your thoughts?"
